Rural Press Bendigo
About Project
Telstra In Building Cellular Distribution System for the Rural Press Bendigo.
BUSINESS NEED
Rural Press is the largest media outlet of the region, and was recently recognised by the Rural Press Club of Victoria with the media outlet of the year award.
Connectivity is essential for this business to operate and meet its strict deadlines.
THE CHALLENGE: The Rural Press office is located in a cellular bunker with the building having little cellular coverage throughout.
SOLUTION
Implement Sigtel Smart Signal Booster Solutions for Telstra alongside a High Gain Parabolic Grid Antenna, and 5G DAS Omnidirectional ceiling mounted antennas. The results of installation achieved high-quality Telstra cellular reception for both 3G & 4G throughout the clients office and work spaces.
FINDING THE RIGHT SOLUTION
Rural Press reached out to a third party, who then contacted communications expert David Crawford, from SigTel Group, to find out how to improve mobile coverage within the building. He recommended 2 Telstra Smart Signal Boosters alongside a High Gain Antenna, and two ceiling mounted distribution antennas. SigTel Group were selected after an extensive review of the product, as well as other solutions on the market. The SigTel Group team then worked alongside Rural Press office Manager to plan the installation. First, they tested all the antennas to determine the optimal position to gain the best outcome in boosting capacity. Then, during the installation, the team of two installers focused on providing coverage in the office areas of the building. In just over 4 hours, the office had coverage.
SUPPORTING MEDIA ORGANIZATION
Not only is Rural Press an award winning institution, the organization can now also communicate via mobile with colleagues within the building, as well as external teams. This collaboration will help to accelerate future stories leading to achieving story deadlines.
